Stain Treatment
Prompt action is needed to prevent stains from setting. If you don’t
act right away, you risk ruining your carpet forever. Most stains
can be removed if the householder acts immediately with water and
clean cloth (blotting up stain). First, clean up any solid matter,
then blot at the stain until you’ve lifted as much of the stain
as possible. Do not rub a stain, as it will only spread to neighbouring
fibers and damage fibers.
Super Cheap Cleaning has it's own product for spot and stain treatment.
This product has been used by many of our customers and keep using
it again and again. This product has been working very efficiently
on most of stains. Call us and we will deliver one of this Super Spotter
bottle to your door step to keep your carpet and upholstery stain
free.
If you don't have Super Spotter bottle then you will need some clean
white absorbent cloth or tissue and the four basic solutions listed
below. (Please check that your carpet is colourfast and safe to clean,
by testing all solutions in an inconspicuous area before application).
1. Dry cleaning Solution - White spirit fluorocarbons, Perchlorthylene.
Caution: Ensure that no flame or lighted
cigarette is near, and use in well ventilated area
2. Detergent Solution - One teaspoon of approved wool detergent to
0.75 litres (a half pint) of warm water.
3. Detergent and Vinegar Solution - Add one tablespoon of white (not
malt) vinegar to the Detergent solution.
4. Ammonia Solution - One teaspoonful of branded household ammonia
(available from hardware stores) to one cup of warm water.
NOTE
1. Some new carpets have been subjected to anti-static and soil resistant
treatments. Even when these have been applied, it is wise to follow
the stain removal procedures suggested.
2. Mix the solution accurately. Test it on an out of the way piece
of carpet. Always work from the outer edge of the stain to the center.
NEVER OVER WET. Dab rather than scrub or rub hard. Even though you
do not completely remove the stain, the correct routine will give
your professional cleaner, when called, the best possible chance of
success
3. Haphazard attempts at spot removal can cause permanent setting
of stain, pile distortion, matting and loss of colour.
WARNING: Whilst every effort made to offer
this advice in good faith, no responsibility is accepted by Super
Cheap Cleaning Solutions for claims arising from the treatments proposed.
If stains fail to respond to treatments listed, call a professional
carpet cleaner immediately.
